Thanks to funding from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, TerrAdapt is supporting the Washington Shrubsteppe Restoration and Resiliency Initiative (WSRRI), a new and collaborative effort dedicated to conserving the state’s shrubsteppe wildlife and habitat in the face of increasing threats from wildfire, climate change, and other stressors. This initiative is led by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington Department of Natural Resources, and Washington Conservation Commission and includes a broad partnership among regional organizations working to conserve shrubsteppe habitat. TerrAdapt's role in this work is to lead the co-development a conservation design that identifies priority priority areas for habitat restoration and protection measures in the shrubsteppe ecosystem of Washington's Columbia Basin, and then use TerrAdapt's dynamic data to monitor these areas over time to assess their integrity and progress towards management objectives.
