At COP15 in Montreal, much of the buzz was around Indigenous led efforts and the crucial role of Indigenous Peoples in helping the world meet a global target of 30% protection by 2030. The Canadian Pavillion hosted a session to focus on a newly announced Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area campaign, the Stein Nahatlatch Initiative. In this session, TerrAdapt was invited by the campaign to speak to how it could support First Nations with protected area planning and monitoring. 2023 will be largely dedicated to community outreach sessions led by the region's elders. Mapping support and land planning will begin in early 2024.
